Remembering Dr. Robert J. "Bob" Hofman

Led Marine Mammal Science for 25 Years

The Commission is very sad to mark the passing of Dr. Bob Hofman, one of the founding fathers of marine mammal conservation. Bob served as the Commission’s Scientific Program Director from 1975-2000. His legacy lives in the strength of marine mammal science and protection around the world and we will miss his knowledge, experience, mentoring, and thoughtfulness.
